Smuggling and hidden Compartments

During this training officers will learn how smugglers and organized criminal enterprises move contraband in vehicles. Officers will develop an understanding of systematic vehicle search techniques, currency and contraband smuggling in vehicles and containers as well as searching commercial vehicles. Officers will learn how to develop a process to identify hidden compartments on vehicles to include commercial vehicles. Participants will explore the use of technology to identify hidden compartments and contraband. Participants will explore behavior analysis techniques to detect deception. Participants will examine court cases that cover the grey issues associated with vehicle searches and seizures. Participants will explore hidden compartments and participate to see other hidden compartments and how easy it is for individuals and criminal enterprises to conceal items in a vehicle
